About

I am a Drupal developer and all around LAMP engineer currently living in Oakland. I've been working in and around Linux and open source since 1999 mostly as a PHP programmer but also as a Linux sysadmin. My background is in Economics but I left behind that life 10 years ago to join a dotcom startup during the boom years and never looked back.

From 2005 to early 2009 I lived in Beijing, China first as a Chinese language student and later as a sysadmin, DBA, web developer and network admin for an English-language magazine in Beijing called The Beijinger. It was there that I first started to work with Drupal. I built a couple sites there for the magazine using Drupal most notably the primary site thebeijinger.com.

I currently work at Common Sense Media in San Francisco as a Senior Software Engineer. In my time at Common Sense Media I have spearheaded the cleanup of a badly out of date and badly 'hacked' Drupal 5 installation, managed the relaunch of the website in Drupal 6 including a full daily build and migrate process using Drush Make during development and have acted as the main point person on the migration of the site to Acquia Hosting.

I own a few projects on drupal.org, am a contributor on several others, and contribute patches whenever I am able to devote some free time to the community.
